Postage Stamp Designs

The objective of this project was to design two complementary stamp designs of the same theme, but different in concept. For this I created a summer and a winter stamp, each with clear images that reflected their respective seasons that would be easily recognizable in the small size. The stamps were intended to have a wide appeal so that they would be interesting to both adults and children.

I wanted each stamp to have one key element that was clearly connected to the particular season (for summer this is the surfboards and for winter the snowman), and then for those images to be included in a greater scene behind them. The snowman in the winter stamp is whimsical in its design, reminiscent of snowy winter days, and the summer stamp displays a vacation scene, with easily recognizable surfboards on a beach. I added the beach scene with the waves and sky behind the surfboards so that there was some depth of field. The winter scene has rolling hills in the background, and snow falling from the sky.

These postage stamp designs were made as part of an Illustration Graphics course using Adobe Illustrator.
